Rarely, the toxin can spread, causing serious effects like difficulty swallowing or breathing. Common side effects vary by injection site and include headaches and eyelid swelling.

Post-treatment care includes avoiding extreme facial expressions, alcohol, and makeup for 12 hours, and avoiding sun exposure, UV light, and saunas for 2 weeks. Treatment should be administered by qualified physicians.
